A multibeam survey was conducted on July 23, 2015 in the Marshyhope Creek, MD by NOAA/NMFS/OHC/CBO to document the condition of constructed oyster reefs. A R2 Sonic 2024 echosounder combined with Applanix POSMV PPK horizontal and vertical solutions provided the data to reduce the depths to MLLW. An ascii xyz file and geo-referenced imagery were provided to USACE and VIMS for additional analysis.
The purpose of the survey was to provide a high resolution bathymetric dataset to be used to evaluate oyster restoration techniques and meta-population data.

Raw position data collected by Applanix POSMV V5 system were processed in Applanix Mobile Mapping Suite POSPac software to provide sub-decimeter horizontal and vertical position solutions. CARIS HIPS software converted the raw multibeam data files collected in Hypack Hysweep. CARIS ingested the position data and depth data editing took place in CARIS Subset Editor. Total Propagated Uncertainty values were calculated, observed local tides and GPS tides were applied prior to the creation of a CUBE surface in CARIS. After review, surface grids were exported with the most accurate tidal solution.
