On September 26, a vessel struck the Matthews Bridge in Jacksonville during a dead ship tow. The Captain of the Port has requested that NRT2 survey underneath the Matthews Bridge to determine if any sections of the bridge fell into the water and if so, whether they pose a hazard to navigation. This survey is intended to identify any pieces of the bridge that may be in the water so that they may be removed. Therefore, data from this survey are not intended to update the nautical chart. If Dangers to Navigation (DToNs) are identified during the course of this survey, any such items will be submitted in a DToN Report. The reporting requirement for this survey is a DR Memo in lieu of an XML Descriptive Report.There were no products created for this survey.This hydrographic survey was acquired in accordance with the requirements defined in the Project Instruction S-H929-NRT2-13.Soundings were reduced to Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW).There were no DTONs created for this survey.As Chief of Party, field operations for this hydrographic survey were conducted under my direct supervision, with frequent personal checks of progress and adequacy. I have reviewed the attached survey data and reports. This Survey Summary Report, and all accompanying records and data are approved. Raw data has been submitted to NGDC for archiving. The survey data meets or exceeds requirements as set forth in the NOS Hydrographic Surveys and Specifications Deliverables Manual, Field Procedures Manual, Standing and Letter Instructions, and all HSD Technical Directives. These data are not intended to supersede charted data in their common areas. This survey is complete and no additional work is required with the exception of deficiencies noted in the Survey Summary Report.This survey does not meet charting specifications and is not adequate to supersede prior data.This survey is for informational purposes only and is not adequate to supersede prior data.
